According to the petitioner (Raila Odinga lawyer )'s 4,463 votes were added to William Ruto's total in the counties of Bomet, Kiambu, Kakamega, Nairobi, and Baringo. Julie Soweto, the lawyer, mentioned the Chepalungu polling place, where Raila had 61 votes on the polling place form but only one vote on the IEBC web. The 41 forms 34A from Bomet, Kiambu, and Kakamega that were provided to agents, according to Soweto, were different from those on the IEBC portal.
Julie Soweto, the lawyer for Raila, said that Ruto's votes were added to those of his client, which affected the outcome.
Soweto claimed that her client's votes were purposefully taken away from the ballots at a voting location in the Chepalungu Bomet county on Wednesday, August 31, on the opening day of the presidential election appeal hearing. She did point out that even with the deduction, the total number of votes remained constant.
"In Chepalungu, votes were taken away from the first petitioner and added to the first respondent, but the overall number of votes did not change. Votes were sometimes taken away from the petitioner and not added to any candidates. This mischief persisted at all 41 of the voting places we have annexed in this subject "She spoke.
"Copies of 41 forms 34A from Bomet, Kiambu, and Kakamega were handed to agents, but they varied from the versions at the IEBC portal and the submissions made at the National Tallying Center in Bomas of Kenya. Forms that the agents had and forms at the portal have the same features and were also signed by agents, but the figures in the forms have been changed, and the outcomes are different," she added
She also questioned how 33,000 individuals in Kirinyaga county chose to vote for a presidential candidate while ignoring other seats.
"According to Julie Soweto, 33,000 voters in Kirinyaga chose to support the presidential candidate over the other candidates for political office. What happened to the five ballots?" She inquired.
